SUPERFEET FOOTWEAR SIZING GUIDE
There is no industry standard for footwear sizes. For example, a size 8 by one footwear manufacturer might be different from a size 8 produced by another. That’s why Superfeet makes full-length insoles in size ranges (typically spanning 1½ sizes) to handle the variations. You may need to trim your insoles to fit in your footwear.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A PROPER FIT:
- Check if your heel fits inside the heel cup and does not go over the edge.
- If the insole is too narrow, go up a Superfeet size.
- If your toes extend beyond the end of the foam forefoot go up a Superfeet size.

Feet that are new to Superfeet insoles may be surprised to feel the support towards the back of the arch at the front of the heel. That’s the distinct Superfeet shape doing its job – stabilising the rearfoot. Give your feet time to adjust to the fit and feel of properly positioned, bio-mechanical support.
If this is your first pair of Superfeet insoles, we suggest you ease into the experience. Keep the original factory insoles until you become accustomed to your Superfeet.
We recommend wearing the Superfeet for 1-2 hours the first day, 2-3 the next, and so on until your feet are accustomed to proper support all day long. The process may take a little time – in some instances, over a week. Please note the process should not be uncomfortable.
If you continue to experience discomfort after 2 weeks of wear, remove the Superfeet insoles from the footwear and contact the store where you purchased the Superfeet.
We are happy to help! Please send us an email, firstname.lastname@example.org, and let us know the reason you want Superfeet Insoles, the type of footwear you wish to wear them in and the activity you will be doing. Make sure to mention if there are any health issues you are wanting to address. We will let you know our recommendations and happily give you a call if need be. For the best fit experience, we recommend you visit a local retail partner with the footwear you want to add Superfeet to.
Be particular about the style of Superfeet insole you choose. Avoid using our BLACK, CARBON, COPPER and YELLOW insoles as features on the bottom of these insoles can damage waterproof liners. Our hiking-specific TRAILBLAZER insoles are a good choice. Note: over time, most insoles will conform to the heel of your footwear and can cause wear through the lining. Superfeet offers no guarantee against the side effects of the insole wearing through waterproof liner.
|Recommended to use with waterproof liners||NOT recommended to use with waterproof liners|
Protect your waterproof liner
If you must use one of the Superfeet insoles that are not recommended to use with waterproof liners, DO NOT put the insoles in direct contact with the liner. You might use duct tape on the bottom of the stabiliser cap to act as a thin, protective lining, or insert a volume reducer between the insole and the inner liner of the boot or shoe.
Routinely remove any sand, pebbles or other grit from underneath your insoles
No matter which insoles you choose, it is important to inspect the space between the insoles and the boots or shoes regularly. Make sure the contact between the insole and footwear is free of gravel, rocks or sand to avoid any premature wear.
The primary differences between the colors are the different bio-mechanical shapes and the materials used. A better way to differentiate between the insoles would be the Fit Profile, which helps describe the shape and thickness of each Superfeet insole.
|Insole PROFILE: How the Superfeet support and shape feel under your feet.|
Most-accommodating shape and support
Intermediate shape and support
Most shape and maximum support
|Insole VOLUME: The space taken up by your foot with the insole inside the footwear.|
For almost every type of footwear
For casual and active styles of footwear
For roomy shoes and boots
It really depends on weight, gait and use. On the average, our insoles last 800 km for running shoes and every day wear or approximately 12 months. Replace your Superfeet Insoles at whichever comes first. Consider the type and size of footwear and the job the Superfeet are doing. For instance, if you wear Superfeet and work on your feet all day, the Superfeet are going to see a lot more use than a pair of Superfeet you only wear in your shoes for an hour at the gym.
A good rule of thumb is to listen to your feet. When the Superfeet no longer feel like they are giving the same amount of support as when they were brand new, it might be a good time to consider a new pair and switch them out.

We do not recommend wearing EASYFIT Women’s 3/4 insoles in high heel shoes. The Women’s EASYFIT 3/4 was designed specifically for footwear with heels that are 1 inch or lower.
Yes! Be sure to take the Superfeet insoles with you when you buy new shoes so you don’t buy a shoe that is the wrong size and volume. Remember to remove any factory insoles (also called sock liners), if needed.
Yes. First make sure there will be enough room in the shoe to accept both the heel lift and the insole. Tape or glue the heel lift to the bottom of the insole.
We do not recommend wearing EASYFIT Women’s High Heels 3/4 insoles in low heel shoes. The High Heel 3/4 was designed specifically for footwear with heels that are 1 inch or higher.
Yes! COPPER insoles offer a strong and flexible base to support the foot. The dynamic foam quickly adapts and moulds to your foot shape, giving your feet a bit more cushion than our other products. And the friction-control nylon top cover allows your foot to move without creating excessive friction, reducing the risk of rubbing or blistering.
You could try it, but we do not recommend it. If using GREEN without removing the manufacturer’s insole doesn’t cause the shoe to fit too tightly against your foot, then test it out. Try wearing the GREEN insoles for an hour or two to find out if the fit is comfortable for your feet.
If the GREEN are not comfortable in footwear with factory insoles that cannot be removed, Superfeet has low-volume, low-profile insoles, like CARBON or EASYFIT -Fit 3/4 insoles that will likely fit better.
The wideGREEN heel and forefoot were designed for a true ‘wide foot,’ sized 3E to 6E. If you don’t wear 3E to 6E footwear, you probably don’t need to wear the wideGREEN. But if you do, all the wideGREEN bio-mechanical reference points necessary for stability, balance and motion are relative to the original GREEN design.
On average, Superfeet insoles last around 12 months or longer depending on the type and size of shoe, the working environment the shoe is worn in, type of activity, body weight, gait and foot type. Depending on these and other possible factors, wideGREEN may last the same amount of time as the regular GREEN, but it widely varies per person. As a general rule, if your insoles are not feeling as good as when they were new, it might be time to consider a new pair. Also, if you are replacing your shoes (for example, if you have been using them in a pair of running shoes), then it is not a bad idea to replace your Superfeet at the same time.
The BLUE has less shape under the foot than the GREEN, but will fit in more footwear. The structured heel cup and distinct shape provide intermediate support in a wider range of footwear, even some with factory insoles that won’t come out.
We didn’t just change the colour of the ORANGE insole to make a women’s model, we engineered it to fit the bio-mechanical differences of a woman’s foot. BERRY features a shorter heel-to-ball length that corresponds more closely to the arch length of women’s feet for a specific fit. The narrower heel cup improves control and natural shock absorption. The BERRY stabiliser cap is adapted to fit the shape and size of women’s footwear so the insole rests easily in the heel. Because of its different shape and size, the BERRY heel cup is slightly shallower than the ORANGE.
The GREEN insoles are high-profile, high-volume insoles. They have the deepest and widest heel cup. The bio-mechanical shape offers maximum support. GREEN insoles are made with thicker foam. They take up more space and fit into roomier footwear.
The BLUE insoles are medium-profile, medium-volume insoles. They have less shape under the foot than the GREEN, but will fit in more footwear. The structured heel cup and distinct shape provide intermediate support in a wider range of footwear, even some with factory insoles that won’t come out.
Use your skate size for your skates, your footwear size for footwear. Generally skates are 1 size smaller.
The choice for best insole depends upon the type of cycling shoe it is going into. For tight-fitting commuter shoes and mountain biking shoes, CARBON or BLUE insoles can provide the fit and bio-mechanical support you’re looking for. For road cycling shoes, YELLOW insoles feature a heel-to-toe profile that can help stabilise your foot and increase power transfer between your foot and the pedal.
No. Here’s how to bake your skates and fit your Superfeet:
1. Fit your Superfeet to your un-baked skates.
2. Take your Superfeet out of your skates.
3. Bake your skates.
4. Put your Superfeet back into the skates AFTER they’ve come out of the oven, but BEFORE you put your foot in.
5. Lace up.
The Superfeet YELLOW insoles are designed to fit the exact heel-to-toe profile of a hockey or figure skate with an elevated heel. This makes it an excellent fit in road cycling shoes as well. The Superfeet CARBON insoles are designed to sit flat with no heel elevation.
The YELLOW insoles are designed to fit the inside volume and profile of hockey and figure skates. Skates are very narrow in the heel and mid-foot section. The YELLOW stabiliser cap is designed specifically to fit it.
The CARBON helps add structure and stability to lightweight running shoes. We developed EVOLyte™ a new carbon fibre and blended polymer composite to create an extraordinarily thin and light stabiliser cap. You get the same legendary Superfeet support in a remarkably lightweight insole. CARBON’s thin profile and wider forefoot efficiently bridges the space between the foot and low-volume shoe to allow both to perform at a higher level.
Skates are very narrow in the heel and mid-foot section. The YELLOW’s slim design makes a good match. The YELLOW insoles feature a heel-to-toe profile that can help stabilise your foot and increase power transfer between your foot and the skate blade or pedal.
We didn’t just change the colour of the REDhot to make a women’s model, we engineered it to fit the bio-mechanical differences of a woman’s foot. hotPINK features an arch length designed to better fit a woman’s foot. The narrower heel cup improves control and natural shock absorption. The hotPINK stabiliser cap is adapted to fit the shape and size of women’s footwear so the insole rests easily in the heel.
Both REDhot and hotPINK feature a top cover layer treated with Outlast® Adaptive Comfort® to absorb, store and release warmth when your feet need it. REDhot and hotPINK also both have a light-but-durable, insulating foil under the forefoot to deflect cold away from your toes, plus an open-cell thermal layer to trap warmth and add protection against the cold.
The thin, low-profile CARBON insoles are ideal for tighter-fitting golf shoes. The low-profile stabiliser cap takes up a less space while providing basic support in a golf shoe.
If you want more support and wear a roomy, athletic-style golf shoe that has a removable factory insole, you might consider ORANGE, BERRY, BLUE or GREEN insoles.
They have the same bio-mechanical features as our ORANGE and BERRY, but REDhot and hotPINK come with some pretty special technological benefits to keep your feet comfy in the cold. Both REDhot and hotPINK feature Outlast® Adaptive Comfort® to absorb, store and release warmth when your feet need it. They also both have a light-but-durable, insulating foil under the forefoot to deflect cold away from your toes, plus an open-cell thermal layer to trap warmth and add protection against the cold.
Sure, but it’s not recommended. The repetitive movement from running may wear the Thermofoil layer prematurely, diminishing its insulating properties.
FOOT HEALTH BENEFITS:
Yes, in most, but not all cases. The deep heel cup will hold more of the fat pad under the heel bone for improved cushion and comfort.
Yes. By helping stabilise the foot, Superfeet insoles can help to reduce foot elongation and improve the fit inside your footwear.
Yes it can, but not all cases. The Superfeet insoles will help stabilise the foot. This will help reduce some of the stress on the plantar fascia.
Pronation is a natural shock absorbing motion that occurs every time the foot contacts the ground. Issues can arise when the foot does not pronate enough, or if the foot remains in an OVER pronated position for too long. Superfeet provide ‘support on tap’ to optimize efficient movement during the gait cycle for all levels of the pronating foot.
Our merinoGREY insoles offer the same support as the GREEN. The two products are built on the same stabiliser cap with the same deep heel cup, but the merinoGREY features a merino wool top cover, which adds a bit more volume (making it slightly thicker than the GREEN, and making the heel cup slightly shallower).
Hand wash your Superfeet with mild soap in lukewarm water. Use an old toothbrush with soft bristles if needed. Rinse well, remove excess water with a soft towel, and allow to air dry – but not near a heat source, like a vent. DO NOT MACHINE WASH OR DRY – the results aren’t pretty.
Hand wash your EASYFIT with mild soap in lukewarm water. Use an old toothbrush with soft bristles if needed. Rinse well, remove excess water with a soft towel, and allow to air dry – but not near a heat source, like a vent. DO NOT MACHINE WASH OR DRY.
Washing the merinoGREY is different than washing any other Superfeet insole. Heat, agitation and detergent should NOT be used! First, clap the insole against your hand to remove loose dirt and debris. Clean with cool water and mild soap. Use your fingers to pat out dirt. Blot dry with a paper towel and let dry overnight away from a heat source or until completely dry. DO NOT put your Superfeet insoles in the dryer – the result isn’t pretty.
Clean your REDhot or hotPINK products with a mild soap or detergent. Use your fingers to pat out dirt. Blot dry with a towel and let air dry away from a heat source. DO NOT put your Superfeet insoles in the dryer – the result isn’t pretty.
The Superfeet insole needs to move independently inside your footwear. The squeak is often caused by the shift of the insole as it works with the motion of your foot. If the Superfeet insoles are new, give them two weeks to mould to your feet and the sound should dissipate.
If the squeak is still there, check to make sure that the Superfeet insole is trimmed correctly. It’s pretty easy to tell if the insole is too long. First remove the Superfeet from the footwear. If you see creases at the toe or sides of the insole, then it’s likely too long. Slightly trim the edge of the insole, approximately the width of a nickel (1-2mm) and then replace the insole in the footwear.
If the squeak persists after trimming, apply some talc or baby powder inside the footwear under the insole and on the bottom of the stabiliser cap.
These products contain Outlast® Adaptive Comfort®, which helps regulate the temperature in your boot. The Outlast is remarkably effective.
If your feet are sweaty, try a different pair of socks. The sock material may be interfering with the Outlast’s thermoregulating properties.
If you enjoy the support of your REDhot or hotPINK insoles, you could also try our ORANGE or BERRY.
The merino wool top cover should naturally help prevent your feet from becoming sweaty. The wool fibres’ thermoregulating properties wick away moisture and heat to keep your foot cool and comfortable when they’re warm.
If your feet are sweaty, try a different pair of socks. The sock material may be interfering with the merino’s thermoregulating properties.
There are several things you can do to help keep your Superfeet fresh:
- Remove the Superfeet insoles from your shoes every night to let the shoes and Superfeet insoles air out.
- Do not wear the same pair of shoes three days in a row.
- Try different brands of socks or nylons.
- Apply a teaspoon of baby powder under and on top of the insole in the shoe.
- Apply some scented hand or body lotion to your feet.
- Try soaking your feet in warm water and Epsom salts for about 20 minutes, once or twice a week.
- Clean the Superfeet insoles on a regular basis (twice a week).
Yes. All of our insoles are vegan, except for the insoles with merino wool top covers. We recycle merino noils – wool fibres too short to be used in fabrics – to create our felted top covers.
